A boarding school gives children a very special experience. The daily routine and
the communal living they experience at an early age help them learn self-discipline
A typical day of a student of MIS is as follows:
A working day typically commences at around 5:30 am when the student wakes up and
is followed by P.T. for 30 minutes. The girls then get ready for breakfast, which
is followed by the school assembly, organised by a different class each day.
Post the assembly, its study time and the students do their regular classes until
3.30 pm except breaking for a juice and snacks at around 11:00 am and lunch at 1:00
pm. The students break for tea at 3:30 pm and take part in extra-curricular activities
like sports, debating etc till 5:30 pm.
Thereafter, students return to the hostels and attend to their home work and prepare
for exams. Dinner is served at around 7 pm, and the students continue to study,
until lights out at 10 pm.
Every student at MIS undergoes a general fitness programme that includes daily yoga
classes. The skill-set of each student is identified and nurtured, and students
are given opportunities to excel, and join the school sports team.
Every Sunday, each student devotes three hours to hobbies, during which they pursue creative and performing arts,
and other non-scholastic activities. The school emphasises on Indian classical dance forms as those who practice
dance gain in poise, charm and beauty.
